Una Semar, LMSW
Úna is a Licensed Master Social Worker and received her degree from Fordham University. Throughout her career, Úna has worked in community mental health settings, treating a wide variety of patients across the lifespan. Úna specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), relational problems as well as trauma and stress-related disorders. Úna utilizes an eclectic, strengths-based approach to providing psychotherapy, including the use of psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy; all tailored specifically to her client’s needs. Úna’s practice is centered on exploring deep-rooted patterns in emotions, thoughts and belief systems in order to gain insight into each client’s current self. Úna’s goal is to facilitate a safe, trusting environment in order to work with her patients to access their unique, powerful, authentic selves and to progress towards true healing.
