Katina is a Physician Assistant who has an extensive background in various fields including medicine, nutrition and holding a leadership role in the U.S. Army with a deployment to Iraq. She is currently working on her doctorate in Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg with a concentration in behavioral medicine. She has spent the past ten years in various subspecialties including Otolaryngology/ENT and Surgery working in some of the largest healthcare systems in the country as first assist in the operating room. She is also a Registered Dietitian who has worked in both acute and long term care settings. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and board certified through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant and Registered Dietitian, Katina spent five years active duty in the United States Army. While in the military, she reached the rank of sergeant and served one year in Iraq in 2004. She has numerous declarations and medals during her time in service. She found her calling in psychiatry with a focus on nutrition and integrative medicine for mental health and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
